Victor Kane followed his brother into battle against the Echo pack, but it wasn’t his brother who brought him back. It was the one they call the lone wolf, the seer, the strange one—Odessa.
Victor’s the second of twelve Guardians. Dragon-born in the sign of Aquarius, he carries all the traits of his sign—the good and the bad. He’s the guarded one, the one with a cool head, the one his family turns to when all hell breaks loose—and his family needs him more than ever.
His brother is missing. His family is torn. But his world is consumed by the wolf, Odessa. Why would she risk her life to save him? Why would she care?
Odessa is damaged from a demon’s blade meant for Victor. Although he’s safe, her demons still consume her. The evil she’s done has come back to haunt her, and Odessa will not only have to fight to survive, she must also protect the one she loves. Her dragon—Victor.
This book is just as exciting a the first one, has plenty of action, suspense, passion, and steamy love scenes that leaves you saying ahhh? Awesome characters and ten more shifters to have their story told. Highly entertaining and keep them coming.Amazon customer
Right from the start I was completely immersed in the story, enthralled, held tightly, but carefully, in its claws straight through to The End! I was so excited when I found out this book was going to focus on Odessa because for whatever reason, she captured my attention & piqued my curiosity! But by the time I was on about page 2 or 3 of her first chapter, she had my heart, my sympathy, my admiration, my pride even, and my love!Cherri-Anne Boitson ~ Amazon review
She tilted her mouth toward me. Her nose brushed my lips. Her crusted wound scraped my cheek. She flinched, dragging those perfect eyes to meet mine. She was so fragile and yet so powerful. How could anyone not be mesmerized?
Need moved in like a riptide, sweeping over me in one second, only to drag me under in the next. She closed her eyes. The kiss so light it was barely there.
But I knew. Energy coursed through her mouth and into mine, drawing me deeper. Her lips were so soft, softer than anything I’d ever felt before. My useless fingers fluttered against her jaw. I lifted my hand, rising to capture the base of her head.
Her mouth was mine. I wanted more, more of this captivating woman. My movements were frenzied. I tried to stem the flow, tried to ease the rush of desire. But my body obeyed a new master. Her tongue snaked out, sliding against my own. The motion drove me to madness. I was moving, barreling her backward. I shoved my left hand out, slapping the wall as I cradled her head with my right.
She was more than what I touched, more than flesh, more than blood. I pressed against her, mashing her breasts into my chest. Tremors rocked her. Her heart thundered, racing to catch up with mine. Or was it mine?
Senses mingled, entangling and entwining like lovers’ fingers. I took her mouth. I swallowed her cries. I drank down every drop of her–and still I wanted more.
I needed more.
Her touch skirted my shoulders, moving to capture my arms. The pull was greater than any current, wrenching me harder against her.
Don’t hurt her. Don’t you dare hurt her.
